DATA COLLECTION

We collect the following categories of data:

  • personally identifying information (PII)
  • data about your CO₂ emissions
  • analytic and technical feedback data
  • Location data (if permission granted in the app)

PII data includes your name, email address, password, postal code and country of residence.

The data about your CO₂ emissions consists of the answers provided in the CO₂ calculator questionnaire and the data collected in the background via the dynamic calculator.

The analytic and technical data includes page/screen views (when you visit web pages and app screens) and details of any issues you encounter. This data is anonymised.

In order to estimate your mobility CO₂ footprint, and assuming that you grant location tracking permissions to the Scone app, we track your location, even when the app is not in use.

PURPOSE AND LEGAL BASIS OF PROCESSING

Scone processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To help you build your CO₂ profile and provide insights into your emissions.
  • To provide you with climate, energy, and mobility news and events.
  • To analyse aggregated user data and identify popular reduction measures.
  • To offer relevant products and services from Scone partners to help you reduce your emissions.
  • To identify issues in our apps and website and to improve the user experience

CATEGORIES OF RECIPIENTS OF PERSONAL DATA

Scone may share your personal data with the following recipients:

  1. Municipalities and cities collaborating on policy measures based on shared information.
  2. Technology partners responsible for security, storage, data analysis, and message delivery.
  3. On occasion, we may suggest a commercial provider from whom you may want to purchase products or services. Before forwarding your details to this partner, we will let you know which partner we recommend and why and will ask for explicit permission.

DATA TRANSFERS

Your personal data may be transferred to third countries or parties outside the European Union. These transfers are conducted in accordance with applicable data protection laws and safeguards.

DATA RETENTION

We retain your identification data until you request its deletion or close your Scone account. You can delete/close your scone account at any time, either via the app (in the settings/account settings menu) or by emailing us at privacy@scone.ai. However, we retain CO₂ emissions data on an anonymous basis for further analysis and improvement purposes.

In all cases, we commit ourselves to immediately delete data once it is not useful anymore for the described purposes, as we also commit to the data minimization principle of the GDPR.

DATA SUBJECT RIGHTS

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to be informed about the processing of your personal data.
  • Right of access to your personal data.
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to erasure of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to restrict processing of your personal data.
  • Right to data portability, allowing you to receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
  • Right to object to the processing of your personal data, including for direct marketing purposes.
